This is a recording from the original live workshop taught online in December, 2022. It consists of an e-book with the exercises and several videos with almost 3 hours of video content. There is also a recorded Q&A section and resource list for research and continued learning. The anatomy portion is educational and experiential. This is a one time purchase and you will receive the workshop in its entirety to go through at your own pace. You retain access to this material for the life of this website and can review and practice as often as you wish. You will be responsible for your own practice.
This information does not replace medical advice and is not intended to treat or diagnose knee issues.
This workshop is specifically for people who want to learn more about how knees should function, and how to best support them to function well. I specialise in teaching women 50-70+ at all stages of fitness and this course is suitable for all ages/stages and abilities. You will definitely appreciate your knees a whole lot more after this course!
The exercises are optional, but they are low load and low impact and designed to improve many skills that you will use on a daily basis such as climbing stairs. Many exercises are designed to improve your gait. Walking for exercise is associated with less frequent development of knee pain in those with knee osteoarthritis.
This workshop does not replace physiotherapy. However, you will become a more informed patient after this course. I have had clients who delayed (and even cancelled) surgery, but of course, everyone is different! It is apparent that moving mindfully has a positive effect on the pain experience. Learning how to move with confidence can give you a leg up on your healing process. If you need more information, please email. Consult your surgeon, doctor or physiotherapist if you are in doubt.
Hi! I’m Carol and I am the founder of Alignment REScue, an online course and membership platform. I have been teaching movement since 1999 when I became a Pilates instructor (Stott). I taught Pilates for 12 years, opening a private studio with custom equipment made especially for me and my 6’2” frame!
Then I discovered the work of Katy Bowman and became fascinated by her approach. I certified as a Nutritious Movement® Restorative Exercise Specialist in 2013, and continue working with Katy today, among other leaders in the movement and physiotherapy world.
Ever curious about all I can bring to my clients, I can often be found studying pelvic floor, osteoporosis, chronic pain and (one of my favourite topics) all things feet!
I believe in giving my clients hope and positive encouragement to navigate their challenges! I’m 64 and have dealt with many of the same things and that has driven me to learn all I can to help others.
In my spare time I like walking and hiking. I look forward to moving with you on the mat soon!
